Top 5 Simple July 4th Home Decor Ideas

To be honest, I don’t always decorate for holidays and seasons. I feel like it can get cheesy really quick and I tend to lean towards the simple side of things when it comes to home style. My Independence Day decor follows suit this year. Don’t be fooled by the minimal July 4th decor though, it is in no way a reflection of the amount of patriotism in my heart…

There really isn’t a spot where a flag wouldn’t look good. It has nothing to do with the color scheme and everything to do with the meaning behind the red, white and blue. I love this country, as imperfect as it is, it’s still a blessing to live here. I could dive deeper, but this post is about simple July 4th decor ideas so here are the top 5 spots where I like to style for this holiday

1 . Entry way - so many size flag options out there so take your pick! My entry is fairly minimal so I could opt for a large flag to be the focal point or go with smaller touches like I did (shown above).

2. Non-functional decor spots- I have baskets in every room; some are functional, and others are just for decor. They make it super easy to add flags throughout the house this time of year (or switch out the greenery as the seasons change)

3. Buffets/shelves - I made this next flag on our CNC a few years back when the farmhouse aesthetic was viral. Although I prefer the true red, white, and blue this is still a pretty way to add some subtle style. Definitely should add a traditional flag to the floral arrangement for a pop of color and true patriotic feel.

4. Front porch - similar to an entryway, it is what guests and passersby see first even if they never step inside. I love how that large flag pops against our white siding. I really want to get a flag holder for one of the beams in the front, but I am waiting until we put a sidewalk in to see which side of the beam to install it on.

Last but not least..

5. Mantel - There are soooo many fireplace styling ideas out there. This one isn’t groundbreaking by any means. I could’ve easily added a flag to the greenery, but I was letting that bunting speak for itself this time.

I hope these simple decorating ideas for July 4th are helpful to you. Don’t forget to check out the sales (at big box stores and antique/thrift stores) after the holiday to help get you started for next year.

Have a safe and meaningful celebration, friend.
