Easy DIY Outdoor Christmas Wreath Window Decor

This might be the easiest way to add some festive cheer to the outside of your home! Even better, you don’t even have to go outside to decorate. Even better-er (ha!) you only need a couple things to achieve this look!

Materials: wreath, fabric, and a window clip. That’s it; that’s all you need!

How to:

  1. I made small cuts in the sheet of fabric approximately 6 inches apar

  2. Ripped the fabric into strips, cutting them to a desired length

  3. Looped a fabric strip through the wreath

  4. Added a window clip with a suction cup to keep the wreath from moving around in the wind

  5. Opened the top part of my window (from inside my house) and hung the wreath on the outside of the window at the desired height.

  6. Closed the window, letting the extra fabric remain inside, tying a knot at the end.

Step 4: Suction cup window clip to keep the wreath from moving around

My total cost per window was only $7! I got the wreaths on sale at Hobby Lobby last year and the fabric I already had on hand.

This is a really simple, yet classic way to decorate your exterior for the holidays. I added lights to the wreaths and now I don’t think the house even needs lights. We’ll add a couple spotlights and call it good. Next year we’ll hopefully have landscaping to add lights to. (That’s on the DIY list for 2023.) My husband sure is happy about this new plan! Despite his organization, hanging lights on our house takes hours - and his sanity - and half the time sections of lights stop working.

Anytime you can make life easier, do it. May this project provide you some cheer without adding on to the stresses of life.

Happy seasonal decorating,

Megan
